Description:Inspection of aircraft, installations and modifications to ensure compliance with standards and specifications; management of non-conforming hardware and work with site management and quality engineering to correct issues; work with other functions to schedule inspections; perform audits of aircraft build documentation and area audits to include root cause and corrective action. The aircraft inspector is expected to lift up to 40 pounds. To perform necessary verifications, the inspector must have the ability to safely climb in and crawl around helicopter, climb on top of helicopter 20+ feet (harnessed), and will be required to stand for extended periods. The inspector will interact with multifunctional team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and resolution of discrepancies. The environment occasionally will be loud from aircraft handling equipment and warning horns/whistles. DOT/FAA Regulations require screening for use of cocaine, amphetamines, PCP, opioids and marijuana prior to placement on the job. Additionally, these regulations require random alcohol and drug testing.
Basic Qualifications:
FAA A&P (airframe and Powerplant) license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance Position may require temporary shift work and occasional overtime. The Aircraft inspector must have relevant Sikorsky platform inspector experience (H-60 / S-76 / S-92). Ability to differentiate writing colors is necessary, as well as ability to read and interpret Drawings, Specifications, and process instructions. Familiarity with and experience using basic dimensional, mechanical, and electrical measuring instruments is necessary. The inspector must have an understanding of Electro-Static Discharge protection processes (LM certification training will be provided).
Desired Skills:
FAA Part 145 Repair Station experience In-depth familiarity with Aircraft Inventory Records (AIR's) and with Visual Information Display System/Maintenance Action Form (VIDS/MAFS). A working knowledge of factory systems such as Solumina/SAP and Microsoft Office applications is also beneficial.
