Summary: Licensed Practical Nurses will answer phones and triage patients who want to be tested and/or evaluated for COVID.
Licensed Practical Nurses will be required to perform COVID Swabbing and Evaluation. COVID swabbing and evaluation will be done in tent outside of Military Treatment Facility or in clinic inside the Military Treatment Facility. Licensed Practical Nurses will swab patients and bring sick or ill appearing patients inside MTF for full clinical evaluation, workup and consideration for admission. Licensed Practical Nurses shall be subject to the same quality improvement assurance standards as those required for comparable military or government civilian providers. Licensed Practical Nurses will be responsible for compliance with all procedures in accordance with applicable Medical Command (MEDCOM) and BACH written policies, procedures and regulations Army regulations. Non-Essential Duties: Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Skills Education, Experience and Licensure: Required: * Degree: Certificate * Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). * Experience: One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation. * Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse. * Must have and maintain Basic Life Support certification (BLS) by an approved American Heart Association training entity. Web based classes do not meet required standards. Near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone and keyboard; lift horizontally and vertically. Assignment may require travel and work assignments at other locations. Travel may be of durations of a week or more and require air travel. Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.
