Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee implementation of brand programs
  • Plan, strategizes and executes marketing campaigns and activities to establish and maintain brand presence 
  • Undertake brand program development strategies 
  • Collaborate with Corporate Marketing Manager to support group sales and B2B growth plans for the extended stay portfolio
  • Develop sales tools and collateral 
  • Oversee advertising and media planning with the eCommerce team
  • Coordinate activities of Social Media and Everyday Surprise Champions in the brand positioning of Sonesta ES Suites
  • Actively support channel shift to Sonesta.com through marketing initiatives
  • Partner with eCommerce to increase organic search results
  • Manage conversion projects and renovation projects 
  • Work closely with the Director, Guest Relationship management to drive guest experience , excellence and accelerate brand loyalty for extended stay market
  • Manage content creation to steward the brand's story through social media channels
  • Manages existing and develops addition extended stay wide policies related to branding and marketing 
  • Overall responsibility of brand management 
  • Ensure branded content is consistent and fresh throughout websites, emails and all communication points 
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives
  • Analyzing potential strategic partner relationships for extended stay portfolio
  • Provides marketing strategy to the regional teams to ensure they are in line with company objectives 
  • Partner with the global sales team to drive brand messaging in their selling strategies
  • Onboard GMs with training: Brand, Marketing and Process
  • Participate in focus hotel strategy calls by reviewing current and drive short term initiatives
  • Offers budget guidance to regional teams and eCommerce 
  • Work with regional revenue team to develop branded packages and special offers
  • Develop promotional plans to be featured in Sonesta marketing efforts. 
  • Ensure programs/offers provide significant returns while supporting Sonesta corporate goals, including driving business through all distribution channels.
  • Work closely with the e-commerce organization to maximize promotional efforts by ensuring synergy of activities, in particular merchandizing of hotel rate programs.
  • Develop plans to utilize partnerships and social media in impactful ways to support both national and individual brand promotional efforts. 
  • Strategies will include leveraging Sonesta Travel Pass and all appropriate Sonesta marketing programs. Strategies should have superior ROI's and be industry leading in nature. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all results of specific marketing programs and activities within their region. 
  • Leverage, when appropriate, hotel teams to perform regional marketing activities as directed by sales and operations management.
  • Support local Public Relations needs such as sourcing stories and touring local press and prospective marketing partners within the region to create awareness.
  • Provide weekly reports as directed by the organization regarding previous week’s activity and upcoming activities.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and marketing plans
  • Lead by example by demonstrating a high standard of professionalism and marketing expertise particularly in the influence of new hires and other hotel team members. 
  • Assists the Sonesta Corporate Marketing team members when appropriate with national and regional programs and strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in marketing and advertising planning, with proven results in use of measurable, data-driven media and channels
  • Previous experience with extended stay hotel marketing
  • Solid depth of experience in design and development of creative to drive guest activity
  • Orientation towards using key performance metrics to monitor marketing strategies, analyze trends and take action
  • Team-orientation with excellent analytical and written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects in remote locations and partially structured environments
  • Must possess strong consultative skills; balancing team and individual responsibilities
  • Travel to the hotels, clients, and region related conferences are a requirement of the job – potentially up to 25%+ of the job                                
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, with advanced expertise in PowerPoint and Excel,  knowledge of creative software a plus (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite)
  • College degree with a concentration in Marketing
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in hospitality marketing or related experience
