Therapeutic Training & Support Staff
The Therapeutic Training & Support Staff/Therapeutic Mentor provides direct family therapy services to patients and their families as clinically indicated under the direction of the In-home Therapist. Services provided to patients and patient families include behavioral interventions, mentoring, and skills building, as outlined in the patients treatment plan. These services are provided in the patient’s home and/or residential site. Therapeutic Mentor monitors behavioral goals and objectives and provides feedback to the In-home Therapist and treatment team
High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelors Degree in Allied Health field preferred, experience of at least 2 years in direct care setting in lieu of degree may be considered.
Outpatient or home based social work experience preferred.
Must be proficient with written and verbal communication skills. Must have knowledge of community-based and state agencies with regard to behavioral health services.
Age and Disability:
Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to interact compassionately and appropriately with patients and their families on a regular basis.
Professional demeanor and appearance, as well as the ability to deal tactfully with sensitive situations and maintain patient confidentiality. Must be able to interact effectively with other hospital departments to achieve desired outcome for the patient.
Reports to the In-home Therapist as well as Adolescent Program Manager. Several hospital and community-based contacts and insurance providers.
Position is home based and requires frequent travel. Minimal risk of exposure or other harm.
Minimal physical effort required. Handling light materials and supplies.
Ability to write legibly on both internal and external documents.
