ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for the effective supervision of staff assigned to Materials Management performing daily inventory activities. 
• Ensures adequate levels of material and inventory accuracy are maintained. Responsible for evaluating inventory needs and implementing strategies to meet daily operational needs.
• Effectively supervises the activities and workload of staff members to achieve daily objectives. 
• Prepares staffing schedules and participates in employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions when required. 
• Provides job-specific training, conducts staff meetings and in-services, and evaluates staff competencies.
• Ensures accurate and timely replenishment processes and works effectively with clinical departments to address supply requirements.
• Monitor and ensure accuracy of all inventory transactions and maintain a record of all stockroom locations. Provide required feedback to teams as required.
• Supervisor will be responsible for cross-team communication and accountability to ensure staff complies with department inventory practices for accurate and timely distribution. 
• Communicate with vendors about supply inquiries.
• Enforces good housekeeping practices daily to eliminate congestion, clutter, and safety hazards and maintains a neat and orderly appearance of the dock, receiving, staging areas, and inventory stocking locations. 
• The Materials Management warehouses should be clear of clutter including cardboard, pallets, and rubbish.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or GED is required. 
• Two (2) years' experience in a hospital or multi-hospital systems with inventory distribution, receiving, and par management function is required.
• A minimum of one (1) year of Team Lead or Supervisory experience is required.  
• Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver's license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Work requires knowledge of computer systems
• Work requires accuracy in all phases of work performed

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment. Walking, standing, bending, turning and stooping. Must be physically able to lift boxes of supplies and place on shelves and/or carts. Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.
