The Packaging Engineer will design and/or review packaging for all new manufactured products; ensure product integrity and maintain sterility (when applicable) under varying shipping conditions including domestic and international. Provide packaging support to Application Engineer Team and Application Engineering Manager. Create and manage the execution of shipping, packaging equipmentand packaging material validation protocols. This position will also provide support for new product design, sampling and shipping of new designs and training to manufacturing and engineering on proper handling and packaging of new product lines. In addition, this position will also review current packages to identify and implement improvements when required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree (Packaging Engineering,Engineering or related degree);required
  • 2+ years' of related work experience; Required.
  • Experience with the development and execution of packaging & shipping studies/validations for new products; Required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of packaging materials, packaging design fundamentals, and packaging test standards (ASTM, ISTA) with the ability to competently apply cGMP requirements, global quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485), and sterilization methods used in the pharmaceutical and medical industries
  • Packaging Design & Development experience in Biopharmaceutical and/or Medical manufacturing,thermoforming packaging development preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively across departments/functions to achieve project/program goals and to meet customer needs.
  • Appropriate certification and/or affiliation with packaging industry organizations, product and component specifications or equivalent such as CPIT or CPP (Certified Packaging Professional) a plus.
