Peraton is seeking a highly driven Systems Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) operations, maintenance and sustainment activities associated with the EasternWestern Range Operational Communications Services (EWOCS) Contract at Vandenberg Air Force Base (AFB), CA. EWOCS provides comprehensive suite of IT services for customers at the Eastern and Western Ranges and outlying stations in support of garrison and mission operations. The position maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts, installing system wide software, allocating mass storage space, tuning system performance, performing backup and recovery, and maintaining system documentation. Interact with users and evaluates vendor products. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and memory allocation to maintain operating efficiency. Implement and test modifications to computer systems in response to MDA Work Orders. Work with Information Assurance Analysts to identify and implement security best practices in all engineering solutions, including implementation of IAVMs and CTOs. Evaluate and provide recommendations on new hardwaresoftware to enhance operational capabilities. May be assigned responsibility for less experienced staff. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent engineering experience, to include two (2) or more years of systems administration in a mixed system environment. Hands-on experience with client-server systems running Windows and Linux operating systems. Must have an Active DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification (Security+, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA Security, GICSP). Must have an Active Computing Environment certification (Cisco, Juniper, RedHat, Windows). Must have an Active Secret security clearance. Desired Qualifications Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) communications systems at VAFB. Experience with virtualization technologies, database administration, and automation scripting. Ability to work with technically and geographically diverse engineering teams and interacting with external customers. Strong verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite.
