Job Description

JOB PURPOSE 

 

To perform assembly of hoods by utilizing welding torch and manually utilizing grips and clamps.  

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  Duties include but are not limited to the following:

 

 

1.            Welder must be able to transfer parts from cart to the assembly table.

2.            Welder must be able to review project folder and take a parts inventory.

3.            Welder must be able to assemble parts manually utilizing grips and clamps.

4.            Welder must be able to operate welding torch and weld parts to assemble hoods

5.            Welder must be able to complete various assembly processes and piping procedures.

6.            Welder must be able to move and transfer hoods to skids.

7.            Welder must maintain a clean and sanitary work area and follow established shop safety rules.

 

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS & SPECIALIZED SKILL

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform any/all essential job functions.
  • Ability to meet and maintain all qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance.
  • Compliance with all personnel policies and practices.
  • On the job training, training and certification in operation of heavy equipment, regular training and re-certification required.
  • Ability to work alone for extended periods and in teams.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS Duties may include but may not be limited to the following:

Standing:  (Constant) Welder must be able to stand to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting materials, assembling parts, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Walking:  (Frequent) Welder must be able to walk to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting materials, assembling parts, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Sitting:  (Occasional) Welder must be able to sit to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting materials, assembling parts, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Lifting:  (Frequent) Welder must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds from floor to shoulder height of up to 60 inches.

 

Carrying:  (Frequent) Welder must be able to complete side and/or front carries of parts and hoods weighing up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 20 feet.

 

Pushing/Pulling:   (Occasional) Welder must be able to generate push and pull forces of ³100 pounds to complete various tasks such as operating welding torch, fitting parts, moving hoods, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Forward Bending:  (Frequent) Welder must be able to attain/maintain a forward flexed position of up to 60 degrees to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting parts, moving hoods, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Trunk Rotation: (Frequent) Welder must be able to rotate their trunk/torso left-right to complete various tasks associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting parts, moving hoods, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Reaching:  (Frequent) Welder must be able to forward reach to a shoulder level height of between 48-60 inches to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting parts, moving hoods, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Manipulating/Handling/Gripping:  (Constant) Welder must be able to complete gripping, pinching and manipulation of various parts and pieces of equipment utilized for the performance of essential job functions.  A grip force of ≥ 80 pounds is necessary for the completion of tasks.

 

Climbing:  (Occasional)  Welder must be able to ascend/descend steps and /or equipment varying from   7 – 12 inches in step heights to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting parts, moving hoods, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Kneeling:  (Occasional) Welder may have to kneel to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting parts, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Crouching:  (Occasional) Welder may have to crouch to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting parts, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Crawling: (Occasional) Welder may have to crawl to complete fitting of parts. 

 

Squatting:  (Occasional) Welder must be able to squat to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting parts, moving hoods, performing labor and cleaning duties.

 

Postural Balancing:  (Constant)    Welder must be able to maintain both static and dynamic while ascending/descending equipment, stairs and/or ladders to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating welding torch, fitting parts, moving hoods, performing labor and cleaning duties.
