Global Learning & Development Manager

I. Job Purpose and Core Tasks

The Global Learning & Development Manager (L&D) is responsible for the development and implementation of global learning programs primarily in the North American-based KARL STORZ business units. The role will provide expert-level facilitation and guidance for high-impact development experiences, commensurate with modern global / corporate benchmarks. Ideally, the role can be based in any of our North American office locations: El Segundo, CA, Stafford, TX, or Auburn/Charlton, MA.

The role's core tasks include:
  • Regular analysis of global and local learning needs
  • Operational management of global training and development programs
  • Consulting/support of HRBP's in strategic training & development programs
  • Curate and consult on external learning content
  • Monitoring of KPI's for global training & learning programs
  • Monitoring budget and expenses on global training offers and programs
  • Support the development and implementation of a corporate business university

II. Minimum Knowledge, Education and Skill Requirements
  • Minimum years of relevant work experience: 3-5 years of experience in HR People Operations
  • Minimum education, certifications and/or credentials: Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Human Resources/Organizational Psychology/Business Administration
  • Preferred focus on professional development, didactics, learning architectures, knowledge management ect.
  • Experience in the design and management of training and development processes
  • Experience in target group-oriented communication across all management levels
  • Knowledge and experience in the innovation of learning formats
  • Experience in global manufacturing and project management
  • Fluent in German preferred but not required
  • Experience with SAP Successfactors (or similar HR and LMS solutions) preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with authoring tools (articulate360, Captivate, iSpring or similar) and production of learning videos preferred
  • Experience with digital/virtual collaboration tools (TEAMS, Adobe connect, Zoom) preferred
