Hatchery Production is a vital role in the daily operations of our facility. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. The types of roles available are handling turkey eggs, transferring eggs and placing eggs in incubators, debeak, detoe and vaccinate poults, cleaning and sanitizing machines, trays and equipment, verifying quality and accuracy of all work performed, all while making safety the number one priority. 

While performing the duties of Hatchery Production, the employee is regularly exposed to live animals, wet or humid conditions with slick surfaces, moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. These positions will work weekends and Holidays. Positions require standing the entire shift and the use of PPE is required in all areas of the facility. All employees working in the Hatchery must follow all BioSecurity measures, including, but not limited to not owning pet birds, avoiding contact with anyone owning poultry, sheep and/or hogs, or anyone working in another poultry farm or a poultry processing facility. All employees in the Hatchery must abide by all Animal Welfare policies at all times.

 

Key Accountabilities

Perform repetitive tasks. Examples include:

  • Lift/handle trays of eggs and poults
  • Debeak, detoe and vaccinate poults
  • Ensuring product safety and quality
  • Cleanliness and housekeeping
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • For Biosecurity reasons - cannot have pet birds, come in contact with anyone owning poultry, sheep, and/or hogs, anyone working in another poultry farm, or another poultry processing facility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous poultry experience
  • Meat processing experience
  • Production experience
  • Work history in the last 12 months
