Position Summary Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures provides legal/general support to the firm's attorneys and their clients. Must be familiar with and observe the firm's established policies and guidelines. Must maintain positive contact with attorneys (both the firm's and outside counsel), support staff, clients and vendors. Observes confidentiality of client and firm matters. Essential Functions Review title reports, surveys, zoning certificates and other due diligence documents for acquisition and real estate loans; • Review leases and prepare lease abstracts; • Organize and assist with closings; including finalizing closing binders; • Ability to assist in preparation of and update closing checklists; • Perform all the necessary follow-up for all post-closing matters; • Work on multi-state loan/acquisition transactions; • Ability to access and search land records; • Coordinate recordation of deeds, deeds of trust, amendments, and other documents to be recorded; • Basic experience with organizational documents; • Highly motivated and a self-starter; Ability to interact well with attorneys, staff and clients; • Good organizational, writing, and proofreading skills; and • Ability to track and meet deadlines. • Willingness and ability to work overtime and to adjust hours based on client needs Requirements Education: Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate required. Experience: Case Assistant/Paralegal with at least 1-3 years of real estate legal experience preferred. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels. Ability to organize and prioritize issues and workload. The ability to work on projects independently or with little supervision. Flexibility and ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities. Exercising independent judgment and initiative.
