Job Description

A General Manager at Wingstop is the leader of the team and acts like the owner of the restaurant. We are looking for honest, energetic, hard-working GMs who are excited to have the responsibility of managing the entire set of restaurant operations. You will be responsible for establishing the tone of the work environment, ensuring that we provide great food and excellent customer service, and managing the operations of the restaurant at a profit & loss level. Among many things, you will make decisions about your team (hiring/firing, setting schedules, training new employees, and addressing performance issues), how we interact with guests (following up & resolving guest issues), and manage the restaurant revenues & expenses (determining and placing food orders, training team members to upsell and suggestive sell, minimizing maintenance costs). To be successful you will need strong leadership and communication skills, a track record of people development, an intuition for customer service, high energy, and a positive attitude.

Currently we have 11 Columbus-area locations with additional units opening in mid 2021.

Our store hours are 11am to Midnight.

What you’ll do on the job:

  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise a staff
  • Provide feedback and continuous coaching to other team members and hold them accountable for performance
  • Ensure everyone is in compliance with Wingstop and company policies and procedures
  • Communicate with ownership and district-level management about restaurant performance; prepare and maintain tracking of key restaurant data
  • Maintain management level food handler’s certification. Ensure strict adherence to all food safety regulations. Maintain safe working conditions.
  • Motivate and manage the entire restaurant team (each restaurant has 10-12 team members)
  • Control food and labor costs
  • Manage inventory and oversee product ordering
  • Manage relationships with large guest / catering orders, occasionally may be asked to deliver orders
  • Take responsibility for cash security in the restaurant
  • Maintaining excellent operational standards and top-notch customer experience
  • Meet budgeted sales and profit targets by managing all aspects of the P&L
  • Contribute to local area marketing efforts

Is this the right fit for you? We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have at minimum, a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), though prefer those with a College Degree
  • Have over 3 years restaurant management experience, preferably in quick service or fast casual restaurants
  • Preferably have prior food safety certification
  • Can work a flexible schedule with 50 hours per week
  • Have strong math, verbal, and written skills
  • Always demonstrate high energy to keep up with our fast paced environment
  • Will be committed to honesty, integrity, customer service, and are self-motivated
  • Have shown in prior work the ability to efficiently manage restaurant operations
  • Have had prior P&L responsibility
  • Maintain high standards for OSHA, local health and safety codes, and labor law compliance
  • Have previously demonstrated an ability to hire, lead, coach, and hold team members accountable
  • Have prior experience with restaurant equipment such as fryers, coolers, sinks, etc.
  • Are proficient with technology, including Microsoft Excel and Point of Sale technology
  • Manage all of their public dealings in a professional manner
  • Are creative and can solve problems independently
  • Are eager to accept feedback and willing to improve
  • Will be a brand ambassador both in and outside of the restaurant
  • Must pass background check and drug test
  • Able to tolerate standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs. and stooping during 80% of shift time
  • Must have reliable transportation
