Description:

The lab techs receive prepared racks from specimen processers, remove the sample cap from the tube, and prepares the tube by placing it on a liquid handling robot. The robot scans in the patient information for tracking and adds a reagent to extract the RNA from the sample. They will also be preparing the 96 well plates from the liquid handler for the final testing process to be performed by the qPCR group. They need a completed bachelor’s degree and some basic wet lab experience (can be from college). Familiarity with lab automation is a plus.

Lab Technician responsibilities include:

• Receiving, labeling and analyzing samples

• Designing and executing laboratory testing according standard procedures

• Conducting experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods

Qualifications:

Completed Bachelors Degree in biology, chemistry or any science related field •
