Youth Counselor

Description:

• The Youth Counselor provides and ensures quality direct care services to residents under the direction and guidance of the Program Director and/or the Program Manager.
• Youth Counselors assist in promoting and maintaining a safe, therapeutic milieu, assist residents with hygiene and personal care needs, and implementing individual treatment plans. Provides consistent supervision of youth to assure safety in all program and non-program areas.
• Ensures the unit environment is clean and safe through environmental checks and reporting safety issues. Youth counselor is responsible for supervision of residents to clean bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge/group room areas daily; with additional cleaning by youth counselor that residents may have missed.
• The Youth Counselor is responsibility for following the daily schedule and ensuring residents arrive on time to meals, activities, school and appointments.
• The Youth Counselor provides constant supervision and actively engages with the residents.
• Assists youth in acknowledging and accepting responsibility for behavioral patterns by providing feedback, positive reinforcement, and instruction in replacement socialization skills, problem solving, and daily living skills throughout the treatment milieu.

3 Shifts -

7am-3:30pm

3pm-11:30pm

11pm-7am
