Under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist, and in accordance with established SMSC Pharmacy procedures, assist in the dispensing of medications.
Requirements
Primary Duties:
Under the supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist, assist in dispensing of medications to patients.
Counsel patients on properly using their medications under supervision of licensed pharmacist.
Complete pharmacy technician duties as necessary, including prescription data entry, counting, pouring, and labeling.
Research clinical information and provide to patients and medical providers when necessary.
Checks incoming inventory, stocks shelves, and monitors products to ensure they are ordered and on hand in a timely manner.
Understands and complies with all state and federal rules and regulations concerning the dispensing of medications.
Processes prescription and over-the-counter sales on point-of-sale register.
Assist with daily closing of pharmacy, including basic accounting and daily deposits.
Complies with HIPAA rules and maintains all patient information confidentially and securely.
Job Requirements:
Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job:
Must be a student currently registered at an approved college of pharmacy or a pre-pharmacy student applying to an approved college of pharmacy.
Must be registered as a Pharmacy Intern and in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must hold and maintain Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. If not CPR certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
