The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and for making sure the restaurant meets McDonald's critical customer standards of Quality, Service and Cleanliness. Our standards are high, so this is a big job! The General Manager works with his/her leader to set the restaurants goals and creates a plan to achieve the goals.

To meet restaurant goals, the General Manager doesn't work alone. He or she leads a team of Department Managers that has specific responsibilities in the restaurant. In McDonald's, this means helping the Department Managers to set their own goals, following up on their progress, and providing coaching and direction.

The General Manager may also be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to make sure that the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future.

-Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team
-Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customer cues
-Assists with new team member training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed
-Contributes to a positive team environment by recognizing changes in team morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager
-Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to customer needs
-Follows McDonald's operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift
-Maintains a clean and organized restaurant
-Provides quality products to all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
-Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines
-Recognizes and reinforces individual team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods
-Maintains regular and punctual attendance
-Must have high level quick service restaurant experience!

Managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit. A Shift Manager provides leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to ensure great Quality, Service and Cleanliness to customers.
