Senior Visitor

Overview:

Location: Fairfax, Falls Church, and surrounding communities.

Pay: $20.00-$26.00/hr

Summary:

 

The Senior Visitor (the “SV”) will report directly to the Director who will make client assignments based on scheduling availability, geographic location and compatibility. The SV will receive a Client Inquiry Assessment (and/or background information) on each client which includes contact information, personal history, daily routines and specific interests. The planning and scope of the visits will be reviewed with the SV prior to the first visit.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Provide quality one-on-one companionship
• Assist with shopping and personal errands
• Accompany to medical appointments and assist with scheduling
• Participate in life-enrichment activities
• Assist with computer and technology
• Enjoy social activities together
• Make telephone reassurance calls
• Encourage and motivate the client
• Use HCA telephony system to record visits and mileage for payroll and billing purposes
• Follow-up by email with a brief summary of each visit

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Presents negative TB skin test (and/or chest x-ray) and drug test.
• Receives approved police clearance, driving record and reference check.
• Must have college education.
• Must be fluent in English and posess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have a reliable automobile, current automobile insurance and be willing to transport clients who require wheelchair assistance, but transfer independently.
