The Escrow Agent Services team of the Citi Private Bank as an immediate opening for a Junior Escrow Product Specialist in its NYC / CHICAGO / SAN FRANCISCO offices.

The Escrow Product Analyst is a strategic professional who will assist the Escrow Agent Services Team with the servicing of its rapidly growing account base.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

Perform all of the following in conjunction with Escrow Team members and the Escrow Service Team to ensure that the Escrow Agent Product is managed as efficiently and effectively as possible:
  • Coordinate Escrow Account openings and closings with team members, the account opening unit, KYC and the Escrow Service Team.
  • Ensure new accounts are correctly funded and that cash management vehicles, ticklers and fee schedules are properly set up.
  • Review and submit client instructions, cash and security transactions, and related client requests on a timely basis; follow up to ensure that requests are properly handled.
  • Monitor account activity to ensure transactions are accurately processed and completed on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with fee billing unit to ensure fees are charged and paid accordingly. For accounts to be closed, be sure outstanding fees are paid.
  • Handle routine maintenance items such as arranging for online access, address changes, adding / removing authorized signers and imaging appropriate documentation (amendments, etc.).
  • Assist with gathering information / preparation of year-end tax reporting.
  • Work closely with all members of the Escrow Team and Escrow Services Team to provide an exceptional Client Experience to Private Bank clients nationwide.
  • Contributions to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow are encouraged. The candidate will be required to evaluate moderately complex and variable issues and apply appropriate problem solving skills in the development of solutions.
  • Act as a source of technical expertise within the team, keeping abreast of process improvements, systems enhancements and any other developments; offer support and guidance to team colleagues.
  • Deal with complex issues and challenges as they arise.
  • Ability to work well with other CPB product partners in meeting client expectations.
  • Direct contact with clients and their attorneys, accountants, third party vendors, representatives, etc.
  • Daily interaction with Private Bankers, Banker Associates, Service Officers, and other internal constituents as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory policies and requirements of the bank.
  • Resolve client inquiries and issues on a timely basis and as accurately as possible through effective and efficient use of Private Bank resources.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Prior experience with escrow transactions and settlement funds is helpful but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Candidate must be well-organized and highly efficient. Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks is critical.
  • Technical skills: thorough knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Familiarity with internal Citi systems is helpful but not mandatory.
