National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a nonprofit substance abuse facility in Arlington, VA is looking for a part-time weekend cook to help prepare meals for our Adult Men's Residential Program. This position is hourly, with a schedule of Saturday and Sunday 7am-5pm.
As a Weekend Cook you will prepare and serve approximately 200 meals per day to our clients according to established methods and procedures while maintaining high standards of food preparation and service with an emphasis on maintaining the salad bar, menu appeal, maximum nutritional value and high standards of sanitation and safety. This is a part time role and the hours are weekends from 7AM-5PM serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate in health and sanitation as required by the Arlington County Health Department
- Serve Safe Certification; Food Managers Certificate
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years experience in food service, including institutional food production
- Experience working in residential community
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to comply with state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality
- General computer knowledge and skills, including, but not limited to use of email and basic electronic timekeeping
- Verbal ability to read and understand written instructions, recipes and labels
