Position Summary:

  • Position manages the sales and rental function for all new and used John Deere, Hitachi, Wirtgen group, Allied equipment, and attachments in an assigned geographic region. Responsible for achieving an annual budget & John Deere business plan while providing Customer solutions and growing revenue, profitability, and market share.

Essential Functions:

  • Region Manager's primary job focus is to lead their sales team and drive top line revenue & results.
  • Time management – Region Manager will need to stay organized to prioritize / focus on high value tasks & activities that increase TM activity, top line revenue, and results.
  • Responsible for setting & achieving an annual budget and John Deere / Hitachi business plan.
  • Responsible for employee recruitment, training, development, accountability, and retention.
  • Sales & rental process accountability - Includes managing & supervising key sales and rental processes such as quote logs, transaction pricing, discount request manager, following key sales/rental operating guidelines, and TM paperwork required for ordering / invoicing.
  • Responsible for monitoring and tracking key TM metrics and results.
  • Conducts monthly one on one reviews with TM's to review current activity, pipeline, and results.
  • Sets individual goals annually with each TM and conducts annual performance reviews with all employees.
  • Territory Manager development – Region Manager is responsible for spending time in the field with the Territory Managers to assist with Customer / market awareness, as well as employee training & development.
  • Expense control, inventory control, and full P&L responsibility – Responsible for all sales & rental functions tied to each region's income statement.
  • Manages all Regional Manager sales funds & Customer satisfaction adjustment requests.
  • Maintains knowledge of various dealership financing options, manufacturer sales programs, and dealership promotions.
  • Maintains regional Customer awareness, attends key Customer events & shows, and manages all Customers at risk.
  • Market awareness – Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the activities, products, promotions, offers, and services of the competition.
  • Regional sales participation - Manages TM & Regional team participation metrics / goals.
  • Transaction pricing – Manages & tracks TM monthly lost and won sales reporting activity / goals through JDQuote2 & EDA data.
  • Territory sales coverage – Ensures all Customer accounts are assigned and classified to each TM per the John Deere Signature process in their region.
  • Facility oversight – Manages the overall branch and yard appearance & the machine / attachment yard organization for all locations in an assigned region.

.Requirements:

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree preferred.

· Ten (10) years of experience in sales, industry equipment sales preferred.

· Three (3) years of experience in sales management, industry sales management preferred.

· JDU Sales certifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Proficient use of computer and related software applications (JD Quote2, EQUIP, Handle CRM, EDA mobile application, JD Dealer net, Microsoft outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).

· Prior employee & P&L / Income statement management experience.

· Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, self-motivations and communication skills required.

· Strong organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Prior sales experience within the equipment industry to provide hands on coaching with the TM's.

· Business acumen and intermediate equipment finance skills.

TRAVEL:

Up to 25% of travel. Local travel within the assigned region, with occasional out of town travel for Customer, dealer, factory tours, training events, and or meetings.
