Building the world's leading sound experience starts with the experience we provide for our people. That's why we've been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices in Seattle, San Francisco & Paris. This role can be done from anywhere in the United States or Canada - any of our offices, or remotely from home. It's about impact, not location.

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to be a part of the design, development and implementation of the Sonos voice experience test infrastructure and long term validation strategy. In this role you will collaborate with a range of cross functional teams to manage product test campaigns and build automated test tools to serve our continuous delivery objectives. The Voice QA team will have a long term impact on the quality and standards of the Music Experience delivered to our millions of customers globally. We are looking for a software test engineer who is willing to be hands-on and collaborate with a range of teams across the business to make our validation strategy a reality.


What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, and expand Sonos Voice Experience automated test infrastructure.

  • Define and Set up test environments and infrastructure.

  • Contribute to Sonos Voice Experience test strategy and acceptance criteria definition.

  • Review requirements, behavior specifications, and design documents to begin test development early and uncover issues prior to implementation.

  • Write manual and automated test cases and determine validation points that need to be inspected.

  • Contribute to Sonos Voice Experience Product validation cycles by monitoring automated tests as well as executing manual tests when needed.

  • Document and report issues, contribute to product release notes and test reports.

  • Investigate, log, track, and triage bugs to determine root cause and help prioritization.

Skills You'll Need:

Basic:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related experience

  • Experience using Linux as a working environment

  • At least 2 years of automation testing including working experience with test automation frameworks and continuous integration.

  • Experience with automation test infrastructure (pytest, cucumber,..)

  • Experience writing acceptance criteria, test cases, bug reports

  • Experience using CI Infra tools such as Jenkins or Artifactory

  • Experience with Test case management tools (Testrail,...)


Preferred:

  • Experience testing vocal interface technologies

  • Experience with (or interest in) working on a software integration team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Experience using Jira and TestRail.

  • Familiarity with continuous integration systems, preferably Jenkins

  • Experience programming with one or more of the following languages: Python, Rust, C/C++
