Dura-Line is committed to Advancing the World together!We are currently hiring for an enthusiastic & ambitious Plant Trainer infor our Elyria, OH manufacturing sitesto lead & standardize necessary training processes for the operations team. You will utilize your manufacturingtechnical writing and instructional design skills to create & implement effective training material such as standard work, SOPs, writing detailed step by step instructions, videos for on-the-job training, testing assessments, and create a centralized checklist to document training verification for audit purposes.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, standardizing, and maintaining the overall training program across multiple US/CAN sites to improve employee workplace performance and ensure it align with our company's core principles; you must be able to travel to other sites to audit & executed designed training. To build credibility and hit the ground running, you will need a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a dedicatedtrainer in a manufacturing, automotive, production, or assembly environment.

Collaboration skills are key to developing an optimal training process! Gemba walks and weekly meetings with production supervisors will be conducted to review trainee progress reports to identify training effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing trainees into qualified associates following company procedures while effectively communicating and helping solve any complex training issues or roadblocks with the leadership team.

Must have hands on experience using different training methods such as lectures, 1:1 hands-on training, videos, demonstrations, job shadow, and other tools & systems to help employees. Adaptability and flexibility will be beneficial in determining the best methods to change to different employee training styles with different personalities, background, and experience level. If you have experience in formal classroom-style training along with employee coaching and development experience, this role is for YOU!

Great organizational skills will be critical in this role! You will be responsible for maintaining training documents, qualification records, logs, skills, certifications, and metrics for the plant to ensure compliance with the requirements- ISO 9000 or TL9000 experience/knowledge is needed for this role. You will develop a centralized training database of all training materials (assessments, work instructions, standard operating procedures, training presentations, etc.) necessary for employee development and conduct periodic audits of processes, training systems, and provide feedback to participants and management.

What else is needed for this role?
  • Project Management & EffectiveCommunication skills are key as you will manage training projects onsite, deliver training presentations to the team, and engage all employees at the site
  • Computer savvy, able to digitalize and automate training processes & materials. Must be at proficient level of experience utilizing Microsoft Office & programs such as Poka, SharePoint, SAP, CRM, Training management system, LMS, E-Learning would be a PLUS!
  • Experience implementing and standardizing processes to develop a new hire & current employee training schedule and completing progress reports
  • Experience utilizing various training methods (simulations, mentoring, virtual, on-the-job training, development classes, etc.) and continuously improve training in search for new avenues and implement industry best practices
