Position Summary:
This position is in charge of maintaining a safe and clean environment. The purpose of this position is to maintain the campus in a clean, orderly and secure manner by performing the following duties. The position is part time, 20 hours per week with a typical work schedule of 10AM to 2PM, Monday to Friday.
Position Details:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Cleans facilities (e.g. classroom, offices, restrooms, halls, carpets, removes graffiti, walls sidewalk, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment for the school facility.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms and related areas; wash windows, walls and tables; clean sinks, mirrors and other bathroom fixtures.
- Pick up paper and other debris from grounds and surrounding buildings.
- Perform general maintenance duties as requested including but not limited to, light to moderate, painting, repairs of plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
- Inspect, replace, and repair electrical switches, sockets and/or light fixtures including replacing ballast as needed.
- Performs minor repairs (e.g. assembles furniture, locks, windows, ceiling tiles, filters, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that Items are available and in safe working order.
- Report damage or unsafe conditions to supervisor and Facilities Manager
- Secures facilities and grounds (e.g. lock doors, turn off lights, sets alarms, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss.
- Respond to emergency calls during school hours to clean spills, breakage and other sanitary hazards
- Keep accurate and running inventory of supplies and request additional materials according to established procedures.
- Move, adjust and arrange furniture and equipment as directed.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
- Monitor the upkeep of plants; remove dead foliage, weed, plant new plants as needed.
- Knowledge of on-site emergency protocols (site disaster plan, exposure control plan, student injury protocol, school closure plan, etc)
- Knowledge safety shut off valves (gas, water, etc) and executing appropriate procedures in emergency situations
- Communicates effectively and cooperates with families, relevant external personnel, and staff members.
- Maintain custodial equipment and materials; maintain various classroom and restroom supplies, including paper towels, soap and related items.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements, reporting any known or suspected violations to his/her supervisor or through other means identified in company policy. Utilizes "chain of command" for communication when necessary.
- Consistently meets school and regulatory training requirements by attending all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Demonstrates consistent attendance, punctuality and dependability.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
