Truss Builder

The Building Center, Inc. Job Title: Truss Builder Reports to: Operations Manager FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt Division: Mebane, NC Summary : Performs all duties required to manufacture roof and floor trusses on the shop floor. Job Duties & Responsibilities : * Responsible for material handling of lumber and truss plates * Cuts lumber per shop drawings * Sets jig templates and truss geometry per shop drawings * Assembles parts to produce trusses per shop drawings * Stacks and bands finished goods per order * Conforms to all safety requirements while working in the shop * Keeps the shop work area clean * Performs other duties, as assigned Qualifications & Requirements : * Comfortable using the following equipment: Forklift; Skill saw; Miter saw; Component saw; Linear saw; Tape measure; Hammer; Wrench for jig hardware * Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and tolerances * Ability to build to manufacturing specifications and tolerances Education/Experience : High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
