Truck Driver Class A

Must be able to operate manual transmission tractors and HAVE DOUBLE/TRIPLES endorsement. The job is Drop and Hook only, no touch freight. This is a night position.

Candidates need one year of combined verifiable tractor trailer experience within the last three years.

We are looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our dedicated Fedex Ground routes leaving from Santa Maria. HOME DAILY. We are flexible with the amount of hours desired. We reimburse $25/month for personal cell phone usage.

Option for part time is acceptable with notice.

The routes runs 7 nights a week. Mostly starting around 8:00-9:00 pm and ending around 6:00-7:00am.

Safety is our number one priority at Ellis Logistics and we will strive as a group to maintain that. We are a growing contractor and have a bright future with many opportunities in the future for our team. Once hired the fedex approval process takes 10-14 days before cleared to work.

Much of our team is bilingual.

Responsibilities

• Must have a cell phone to communicate.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• A clean area is a safe area, trucks must be taken care of.
• Drive at night time safely.
• Document and log work/rest periods using a logging device.
• Must be able to hook up a dolly on your own.

Skills

• Proven work experience as a truck driver (minimum 1 year per FEDEX requirement)
• Ability to drive long hours and night hours.
• Basic understand of the mechanical aspect of the trucks to be able to perform the pre/post trip inspections.
