A week in the life of an Aerospace Engineer: * Perform aerospace engineering in support of flight control system development; aircraft modeling and simulation; analysis of aircraft flight dynamics; and ground and flight test support. * The technical tasks will include: * Supporting the design, development, integration, and test of aircraft flight control systems and autopilots * Developing, integrating, and validating models of aircraft flight dynamics and subsystems such as payloads, engines, transmissions, flight control components, and sensors * Supporting lab, ground, and flight qualification testing of aircraft avionics, sensors, and flight control systems Founded in 1975, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the United States. US Citizenship required. * Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering (Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering desirable) * Experience with MATLAB and MATLAB scripting * Knowledge of rotorcraft design aspects (Academic experience is acceptable) * Excellent documentation and report writing skills are essential for this position. * Must have a good knowledge of sound engineering practices that may include such areas as requirement tracking, configuration control, technical communication, and/or the peer review process. * Experience with the C/C++ programming languages is desirable.
