About this job

A full time store employee (other than the manager or a manager trainee) that has developed skills necessary to successfully operate a store in a manager's absence is considered an Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager is normally hired to work the night shift and open on the days the manager is off. They are responsible for but not limited to:
  • Handling cash accurately
  • Checking in vendors according to Short Stop procedures
  • Cleaning and stocking
  • Following security procedures
  • Doing paperwork in a timely manner
  • Making bank deposits in a timely manner
  • Fulfilling company standards and job responsibilities
  • Opening store on time
  • Knowing all company policies and procedures
  • Ordering merchandise according to Short Stop procedures
  • Responsible for great customer service
  • Minimum of 2 years retail experience
  • Ability to communicate well with customers and employees
  • Excellent ability to organize, lead, problem solve and edit work of others
  • Superior skills in prioritizing, contingency planning and follow through
