AM/PM Supervisor- Inspiration House Day Care Center(IHDC)
At the Inspiration House Day Care Center (IHDC) the AM/PM Supervisor goals are to continue to make the center a place where children enjoy spending time and is to ensure the safety to all children in the presence and absence of the Director and Assistant Director.
The AM/PM Supervisor has a wide range of responsibilities to include interacting with parents, teachers, and other staff, all while demonstrating the safety and wellbeing of all enrolled students.
Skills & Abilities
The incumbent should have the skills and ability to communicate professionally, effectively show kindness, patience and care of others while working at the IHDC. They should be able to show strong signs of leadership, with the ability to manage a diverse group of children and staff. The Supervisor must be skilled at Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR), Adult and Child First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) routine emergency treatments. May be required to complete Medicine Administration Training (MAT) to assist with administering medication to children as needed in our care. In addition, be highly organized, prompt, trustworthy, responsible and detail oriented.
The AM/PM Supervisor will be responsible for the ongoing day to day operations of the center in the absence of the Executive Director or Assistant Director. These duties include managing staff, collaborating with parents, and interacting with children and will monitor and observes the daily operation of the classroom for safety, positive reinforcement, and productive educational activity. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing daily classroom lessons that are age and stage appropriate activities and that will meet physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children that supports IHDC’s curriculum. The AM/PM Supervisors will monitor, complete regular assessments of each child’s development, and maintain appropriate documentation. They will also oversee the performance of Head and Assistant Teachers and assist wit their planning and classroom management. In addition, the incumbent will address, monitor, document issues, concerns, and problems of all children with the classroom teachers, Directors, and parents by establishing and maintaining professional and positive relationships.
Additional essential duties will include; Assist with serving snacks and lunches provided by the parents while monitoring dietary requirements for individual children, conduct diapering and toileting by adhering to appropriate procedures at all times, administer medication to children within medication administration training guidelines as needed, and will need to be able to bend and lift children over 5lbs, performs light cleaning such as gathering trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing toys tabletops, kitchen prep area, and bathrooms, professionally answer phones and relays messages to the Director and Assistant Director, conducts opening and closing procedures when needed.
Other responsibilities of the AM/PM Supervisor will be to report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the appropriate party for follow through, participates in required training programs, conference, courses, and other aspects of professional growth, and will adheres to all established policies, procedures, regulations, and code of ethics.
The ideal candidate will meet the minimum education of a high school diploma or equivalent; and have two years related experience or be in- training in a childcare setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
All incumbents must meet all state and local requirements to include Social Service and State Background checks.
This position is an hourly position. Compensation and hours will be discussed at the interview and vary depending on experience, availability, and qualifications.
