We are looking for to fill a position for a PART-TIME Medical Assistant/Biologic Coordinator in our ZH/Wesley Chapel Dermatology office. Gives you an employer that you will have pride in working for Provides excellent training programs and opportunities for growth Offers Medical Benefits including:Employer Contributions to HSA high deductible plan Discounts at our medical facilities Cigna Open Access OAPIN & OAP plans Supports Incentive based Wellness Programs Offers company sponsored Life Insurance with buy-up provisions Provides Dental, Vision, Long and Short Term Disability, Accident & Illness policy options Supports Paid Time Off and Holidays Gives generous 401K plan with annual 3% Employer contribution after one year of employment Values and appreciates its employees Boasts a reputation for superior health care and quality service THE KEYS TO SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE INCLUDE: Love of patients and providing excellent care Confidential handling of patient’s accounts and records Entering data into Electronic Health Records Preparing patients for examination and/or procedures Adherence to company policies HIPAA and OSHA Compliance ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Handles patient calls:Faxing authorization forms and documents Assists provider with completion of prior authorization forms Call insurance to check prior authorization status Notify patient with updates of status of approval process and status Help patients schedule medication deliveries Returns messages Notifies patients of test results and instructions from provider Schedules follow up appointments Distributes, reviews, and teaches patient education Properly rooms patients and assists providers when neededTakes and records vitals and other needed intake information Updates IEHR (allergies, medications, history, etc.) Assists in following appointment schedule Prepares exam room and patient for examination or treatment Obtains informed consents and ABN as necessary Notifies provider when patient is ready Performs/prepares diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the provider when her assistance is needed during clinicRemoves sutures for post op patients Checks patient wounds post-surgery Administers injections and immunizations and records them in IEHR Obtains consents Prepares specimens and requisitions for lab courier Enters charges for services rendered by the medical assistant Addresses and handles all tasks, as well as monitoring provider’s tasks Assists provider with completion of forms requested by patients Prepares charts and acquires medical records necessary for visit JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of Medical Assistant program Medical Assistant certification is a plus High school graduate or GED certificate Excellent communication skills including verbal/written, in person and on the phone Ability to travel to other FMC locations as business needs necessitate For more information please visit: https://www.floridamedicalclinic.com/careers We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and make employment decisions without regard to race, gender, disability or protected veteran status #IND123
