The Production Reliability Engineering (PRE) Resiliency team at Capital One is looking to expand its team of Reliability Engineers! Our team is focused on inspiring innovative risk management frameworks that protect the customer experience.  We do this through innovative integration of process and technology to deliver an industry leading Resiliency and Reliability testing and governance program.

 

An ideal Engineer at Capital One will engage with the development teams and horizontal organizations and communities, providing guidance and technical stewardship on their resiliency and reliability initiatives.  As a member of the resiliency team you will help align and integrate enterprise objectives with broader organizational objectives particularly around the integration and adoption of resiliency verification through integration of principles and practices. A resiliency engineer listens and discovers ways to help promote the availability of services and applications, improves process through remediation of manual and/or repetitive processes and tasks.

Requirements: (Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:)

• Demonstrated experience of key reliability concepts and practices

• Proven experience with at least one programming language

• Understanding of virtualization and cloud fundamentals (AWS Certification) 

• Excellent problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills

• Experience working with Application Architecture

Basic Qualifications 

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

• At least 6 years of experience in open source programming languages

• At least 1 year of experience with  AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure

 

Preferred  Qualifications

• 2+ years experience Cloud/AWS Services and Capabilities

• 1+ years of working knowledge of containerization and serverless technology

• 2+ years of experience in a configuration management solution (ie. terraform, ansible)

• 1+ year of experience with monitoring/observability tools (ie. Prometheus, DataDog, ELK)

• 1+ year of experience with alerting tools (ie. Pagerduty, Victorops)

• 5+ years proven experience in project management

• 1+ year of experience working with Chaos Engineering practices and technologies
