Sodexo’s growing Healthcare Technology Management Division is seeking solution-oriented candidates who excel at customer service with a proven success as an Imaging Service Engineer I (ISE 1) to support our Healthcare Technology service team at UTMB on the beautiful island of Galveston, Texas.

Working in HealthcareTechnology Management (HTM) for Sodexo, you will partner with our Healthcare clients to manage their clinical technology needs. Together, we provide leadership and expertise for their business, patients, residents and the staff who care for them.  We are looking for a self-motivating, mentoring individual to complement our existing talent.  Experience preferred with ultrasounds, injectors, Philips monitoring systems, etc.

 

ISE I Position Description:

Under direct supervision, this person will inspect, repair, maintain, and calibrate basic diagnostic imaging equipment, devices, system, and instruments. Interact on a routine basis with other clinical health providers in the identification of technology-based problems. Participate in on-the-job training programs regarding technical, administrative, and customer service requirements.

 

Technical Duties and Responsibilities for Imagine Service Engineer 1:

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of basic networking theory.
  • Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions when servicing high voltages and working with ionizing radiation.
  • Ability to analyze electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to isolate, test, and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and tests.
  • Ability to run diagnostic programs.
  • Skill in testing electronic, radiologic, and mechanical equipment.
  • Skill in manual dexterity, hand-to-eye coordination, and color vision.

The ISE I for this role will possess: 

  • experience in a hospital or healthcare setting;
  • ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical imaging devices;
  • excellent communication, customer service and time management skills;
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation schedule as required.

The role will focus on customer needs and ensuring all HTM related functions are completed in a quality and timely manner to include medical device preventive and corrective maintenance and other related matters. Ideal candidate will have experience and training in biomedical equipment role/field and the capably to serve a wide variety of customer needs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Reuqirement - Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronics, biomedical engineering, or other technical discipline contributing to proficiency of maintenance and repair of imaging equipment within a healthcare environment

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of experience within a healthcare setting with direct responsibility for the maintenance and repair of clinical devices and/or 1 year of imaging equipment repair and maintenance within a healthcare environment and/or entry level of formalized training and/or equivalent military training
