The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides evaluation and medication management of the patients necessary to ensure quality and most effective treatments and services to our patients. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner supports the policies, rules, and regulations of the facility. Assists with the Utilization Review and Management and Medical Quality and improvement processes. Responsibilities * Assume responsibility for the day-to-day care, evaluation and psychiatric management of the patients that are being seen as psychiatric outpatients and/or follow up care in Serenity Community Mental Health Center and its programs, in accordance with the State and Federal Statues. * Complete Initial Psychiatric Evaluations on a timely manner. * Documents medication effectiveness and/or side effects appropriately. * Ensure that Medical and Physical problems are identified and responded to appropriately and/or referred to outside agency/provider. * Ensure that patient is appropriate for level of care based on client's psychiatric history and status. * Participate in the implementation with management of quality assurance standards for documents of Serenity Community Mental Health Center and its programs by maintaining high documentation standards. * Ensure compliance with medical record keeping and adverse incident reporting as per Medicaid and Florida Statues. * Collaborate with staff and evaluate the quality of patient care provided by Serenity CMHC personnel to its patients, including documents and services provided to Serenity CMHC patients. * Provide professional medical direction services to Serenity CMHC staff including follow up with staff on resolving patient needs/issues that are affecting the well-being of the patient in their home environments. Qualifications * Education: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner from Accredited School * Experience: Knowledge and skill in assessment and psychotropic medication management * Unencumbered APRN License in State of Florida * Psychiatric Certification Preferred * Active DEA Number * Active NPI & CAQH Number * CPR/First Aid Certification * Medicaid/Medicare Provider License Preferred * Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. * Must be able to travel throughout the state on a regular basis. * Must hold a current, unrestricted, state appropriate driver's license. * Demonstrated knowledge of: o Excellent verbal and written communication skills o Excellent interpersonal skills o Excellent analytical and organizational skills o Unquestioned personal and professional integrity o Innovative and analytic problem-solving abilities o Excellent computer skills o Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
