Occ Summary

Independently plan and provide professional nu rsing care for patients inaccordance with physician orders and establish edpolicies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients and famil ies inaccordance with the scope ofthe RN as defined by the North Caroli naBoard of Nursing.Nurses hired into this limited benefited classificati onwill commit towork a minimum numberof hours in a designated inpatientn ursingdepartment. Compensation is a flat rate that is based on years ofe xperience.


Work Performed

Plan, provide, supervise an d document professional nursing careutilizing the nursing process for pa tients in accordance with physicianorders and established policies andpr ocedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and response to care.Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed andun licensed care providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the deliveryof nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a group of patie nts or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and material reso urces.Participate in own professional development by maintaining require dcompetencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriateassista nce or educational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the developmen t of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identificationof clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities and inperfo rmance improvement activities.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications


Education

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.


Experience

2 years of appropriate clinical experience required


Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
