**JOB SUMMARY
**
The CNC Set Up/Operator is responsible for the operation of automatic CNC spring coiling machines and manual spring coiling machines to manufacture springs. The training for this opportunity will be on 2nd shift, 2:30pm - 11:00pm for approximately six (6) months. After training is completed, the opportunity to move to 1st shift will be available. If you are seeking a career change and have machine operation and set up experience, complete training is available to learn to be a Spring Coiler.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
**
- Review blueprints to determine setup procedures to follow, machine attachments required for production and stock to use or obtain details from setup charts.
- Selects required machine attachments, such as taper cams, wire size block, coiling point, pitch toll and cutting tool according to blueprint or setup chart and installs on the machine.
- Verifies wire diameter with a micrometer or caliper and threads the wire.
- Sets cams, turnbuckle, and pitch tool to control spring dimensions.
- Manufactures a first piece sample(s) for product conformance.
- Adjusts machine to attain specified tolerances.

- Ability to use a variety of precision measuring devices.

- Attendance and punctuality are critical due to production schedules.
**EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
**
- Two or more years of experience using a coiling machine and/or equivalent machine operation and setup.
- High school degree or GED or Trade School Certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
**
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Required to stand for 6 hours or longer.
- Usage of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Repetitive movements.
- Specific vision abilities are required, including close vision, peripheral and depth perception.
