A week in the life of the Subject Matter Expert (Data Development) includes: * Assist a software development team in developing an advanced synthetic training environment to support military pilot training. * Apply tactical knowledge to support the development of entity models. * Perform TechELINT analysis on complex waveforms associated with a wide range of red and blue force systems. * Develop and refine simulation presentation of real-world ELINT parametric data. * Perform signal translation of waveform data into a descriptive and behavioral modeling & simulation language for Development and Test. * Perform threat system analysis and sensor modeling of radars, electronic warfare (EW) systems, countermeasures, electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) systems, and various weapons. * Conducts specific sensor research, analysis, correlation, and assessment in order to reproduce the sensor as a software model through a suite of NGTS data editing tools. * Participate in software test activities to include test procedure creation and test plan development. * Understand and discuss simulation requirements with the customers, document and track these requirements, and provide technical input to modelers with regards to fidelity, accuracy, and intended use * Act as liaison with aircrew and program leads.
