As a Crew Member, you will be responsible for: Serving each guest courteously, quickly and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant and enthusiastic attitude. Filling orders. Operating a cash register. Keeping your area neat, and clean. Work in the kitchen preparing food and completing other assigned tasks.

  • Identify food that is incorrect and remedy the problem before it is sent to the guests

  • Be aware of time; keep tabs on how long items have been in the window; find out why something has not been delivered quickly (i.e. lost check or check not thrown by cook); make sure guests are not kept waiting or are given a reason why
  • Have full knowledge of all items and how the food should appear on the plate (including correct garnish and plating)
  • Stock and rotate all needed supplies in the service areas and dining room
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as the IHOP Safety Manual and SOP health, sanitation, and safety guidelines
  • Perform all cleaning duties
  • Comply with uniform and appearance standards per SOP guidelines
  • Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager, Assistant Manager or acting Shift Manager.
  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the dish machine
  • Sort and stack clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to cooks line and other proper storage areas
  • Clean and roll/unroll mats
  • Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
  • Wipe up any spills to ensure floors remain dry
  • Clean tables and/or counters after guests have finished dining
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands after using the restroom, etc.)
  • Sweep/mop floors and remove trash as needed.

Position Description

The Crew position provides each guest with a positive customer service experience by providing legendary customer service, keeping the restaurant clean, preparing, packaging and delivering a hot, quality product that meets our standards.Crew position requires people-who enjoy the hospitality industry and who are capable of executing the physical mechanics of detail service. The primary goal is serving guests in a warm, accommodating, professional way to ensure total guest satisfaction. Crew members have a wide range of duties, from working in the kitchen preparing food, to the front counter helping guests through the ordering process while delivering legendary service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SOLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that all payments with the point of sale system are accounted for correctly. Receive cash and make proper change. Issue receipts when requested or when required. Prepare all logs as required
  • Anticipate the guests needs and concerns
  • Has full knowledge of all food and beverage products and garnishes being served and is fully aware of any and all changes to any menu items
  • Check guests identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Awareness of product on hand and being proactive to ensure that necessary supplies are always available
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of sale, sanitary food-handling practices
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands after using the restroom, etc.)
  • Communicate with outlet regarding needs for supplies as they occur
  • Ensuring that all tables and chairs are cleaned and wiped down prior to the opening and throughout the hours of operation
  • Responsible for the service of products within the outlet
  • You abide by the operating policy and procedures set forth by Traditions Spirits
  • You are aware of all posted information on bulletin boards and in newsletters and will attend any departmental meetings
  • You are flexible and willing to assist others with tasks that may not normally be your responsibility.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Dealing directly with the public. This includes serving guests in restaurant/casino and receiving guests
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters
  • Ability to read, write, and understand orders
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • Ability to handle cash, give change and balance receipts at the end of the shift

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Standing and walking during entire shift
  • Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, stirs, pouts, carries and pushes
  • Lifts and carries supplies, tubs, and cases, weighing up to 30 lbs
  • Essential hand/eye coordination
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior restaurant/bar/casino work environment
  • Noise level is moderate to high
