A Connecticut health services network is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) for a promising Part-time position with their growing medical team. In this role, the Part-time Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing patient care in the pre-operation and recovery phase.

- Make the pre-operative telephone call to patient to ascertain information and to revive pre-operative instructions
- Notify the Surgeon / Anesthesiologist of any incomplete or abnormal data that may affect the surgical procedure
- Admit the patient to the center and again review the pre-operation instructions and patient's adherence to it and all required pre-operation information
- Complete the pre-op patient assessment checklist
- Carry out the Physician's orders for pre and post-operative care
- Assist in the physical discharge of the patient
- Make post-operative calls
- Monitor the crash cart, related supplies, and equipment
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in an Operative and/or similar setting
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- CT Registered Nurse (RN) license
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- ASORN certification
- Experience in a Perioperative Nursing role/setting
