Occupational Health Nurse (Manufacturing) - Richmond, VA

A Major Manufacturing company is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse for their facility in the Richmond, VA area.

Compensation: $85,000 base salary. Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD, STD, PTO.

Overview:

The Health and Occupational Technician is a critical role supporting the manufacturing facility providing key leadership and support for the occupational health and wellbeing the employees. The role reports into the Health Safety and Environment site lead. The role Coordinates and assists in the

management of all occupational health activities within the facility.


Preferred: Bachelors in Occupational Health, Nursing, EMT


Nursing/EMT certification in occupational health, 5+years of experience, in manufacturing setting preferred

Job Description:

Essential Duties of the medical services technician may include, but are not limited to the following:


Providing medical services and emergency (first aid) treatments to employees who become ill or injured on company premises, which includes responding to medical emergencies outside of Health Services clinic


Managing employee accident cases and all incident investigation reports any relevant paperwork, including managing relevant medical documentation (OSHA logs, Employee Records.


Providing preventive health evaluations and tests in accordance with the


company Health Services program protocols, including medical evaluation of job


restrictions, associated testing such as audiometry and BBP program. 15%


Manage and provide all employee related first interactions with Workmans comp,


claims, interactions and restriction with accident-related incidents and support


HR all leave related activities: FMLA, ADA accommodations and STD.


Injuries/ Safety Administration


Triage and treat minor injuries


Refer injuries to Concentra (or approved Clinic) as needed


Respond to emails from Med Only side of ESIS


Communicate with 3rd party WC carrier regarding treatment


Fax medical to ESIS


Call claims into ESIS (First Notice Line)


Meet with Safety Manger to discuss current cases


Maintain OSHA Log


Maintain Incident Log (LTA, RWC, MTC, FA) and report Health service monthly numbers


Report OSHA numbers monthly


Maintain List of colleagues Permanent Restrictions


Communicate with doctor offices and other providers regarding WC claims


Monthly checks for First Responder bags, O2 tanks and AEDs


Monitor and inventory First Aid boxes


Communicate with leaders, HR and Safety to see if we can accommodate restrictions

STD/FMLA/ADA (Non injury related)

Respond to emails from #3rd Party Provider (ESIS)

Manage all employee leave and return to work activities

Work with HR and leaders to see if we can accommodate restrictions

Send emails to HR and leaders when colleagues RTW regarding accidents

Send Job Requirements to ESIS


Inventory and stock medical supplies


Monitor and Stock first Aid cabinets


File dictation, doctors notes, colleague incident reports in colleague files


Maintain a log of work restrictions


Answer phones and communicate with colleagues, HR and Leaders


Maintain clean working environment


Remove and maintain old colleague files


B/P checks


Blood glucose checks


Hep B injections


Flu shots


Voluntary respiratory program questionnaire and maintain notebook


Fit testing


Employee Assistance Program (EAP) referrals


OSF students


Coordinate and scheduling colleagues for Annual hearing tests


Compile annual audios, file. Send out referrals for re-test and communicate


Assessment of non-work-related issues


Offer education and healthy recipes to colleagues


Blood Borne Pathogen education


Coordinate annual Biometric testing and assist colleagues with signing up


Hemoccult testing


Go out in plant for any issues


Respond to colleagues questions about personal medical and other personal issues


Give information requested about personal issues ie: diabetes, heart disease, migraines


Give out shoe and Rx eye glass vouchers and track on spreadsheet


Offer front office room for breast feeding mothers


Health Fair for Health and Safety Week


Health portion of HSE Pillar


Maintain B/P machines and scales


Manage and monitor ergo belts
