EHS Manager - Full-time

Location: Aurora, OH

Salary: $80,000.00 USD Annually - $95,000.00 USD Annually

Description: Our manufacturing client is currently seeking a Plant EHS Manager for one of their OH plants.The EHS Manager oversees and manages all safety and environmental programs at a manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for developing policies, procedures, and programs that ensure the safety of all employees contractors, vendors, etc. Relocation assistance is being offered for candidates who are not local. This company has a dedication to safety in every one of their facilities so this position is crucial for the running of this plant. Plant and corporate management is 100% on board with making sure safety is a #1 priority.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Engage with both plant and corporate leadership in building strategic plans and energize plant associates in safety and environmental improvement. Develops and implements innovative strategies with the goal of creating a culture of safety.
• Develop and standardize policies, procedures, and programs aimed at improving safety performance and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Analyzes any actions data regarding performance against organizational metrics, incident trends, serious incidents, regulatory and legal issues.
• Organizes and manages the incident investigation process within the facility using participative root cause analysis techniques.
• Subject matter expert providing analytical and technical guidance related to OSHA, DOT, EPA Standards, process safety, and lock out tag out.
• Oversees Workers Compensation injury review, investigation, and corrective actions. Collaborates with risk management, HR and carriers to effectively manage claims.
• Works closely with Plant Management, HR and Logistics to problem-solve and implement solutions.
• Develops and implements sampling and monitoring plans which may include installing, operating and maintaining equipment which monitor air, land, and/or water pollution level
• Collaborates cross functionally to ensure effective equipment guarding, design, installation and compliance.
• Work with on-site Safety Committees to achieve excellence in safety performance

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in safety, environmental health, industrial hygiene or safety engineering. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered as alternate qualifications for education.
• 3-7 years of directly related experience in the EH&S field or in a related area withinmanufacturing
• CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or other comparable certification desirable or ability to obtain such certifications
• Strong leadership skills. Strong written and oral communication skills, organized, self motivated for excellence, has a high standard of performance expectation of self, works effectively in teams.
• Use of the Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Word, Power Point as part of normal job duties.
• Statistical knowledge and aptitude.
• Strong project, organizational and time management.
• Ability to work well with both technical and non-technical people.
• Plant or culture transformation experience highly preferred
