Registered Nurse - Full-time

Job Title: RN - Acute Dialysis

Location: Pontiac, MI

Duration: 3+ Months (Extension Possibilities)

Shift Timings: 7a to 7p

Job Description:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care in the inpatient hospital setting.

Independently provides dialysis treatment in various acute settings such as but not limited to the emergency department (ED), post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the dialysis procedural area.

Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching for acute dialysis patients and family members.

Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.

Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Reports to the Dialysis Nurse Manager/Administrator of the Dialysis program.

Education:

Graduate of accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.

Current State of Michigan RN licensure required.

Prior to assuming charge responsibilities, must have at least 12 months experience in nursing care including 3 months experience providing nursing care to maintenance Hemodialysis patients.

Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to oversee and provide dialysis care to inpatients who are often critically ill and may be in the ICU.

Preferred experience in the specialty.

Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
