We are seeking an Application Engineer that is highly-technical to serve as a subject-matter expert configuring and administering Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and can transition to Microsoft Endpoint Manager Configuration Manager (MEMCM), the successor to SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Windows 10, and Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (formerly Office ProPlus) in medium to large organizations. This individual will have extensive experience with Architecting and Administering desktop management solutions, upgrading to Windows 10, business analyst skills, a keen interest in learning new concepts and solutions, while at the same time applying these learnings to new and future projects.

This position requires participation in presales activities, creating technical documentation, collaborating with project managers, extensive client work, and participating in 3-4 projects simultaneously.

Scope of Activity and Responsibilities & Advanced Knowledge with:
  • Designing, Planning, and Implementing MEMCM and Intune, such as:
    • Planning MEMCM hierarchy and site system roles
    • Analysis and configuration of Active Directory Domain Services for its readiness for MEMCM
    • Creating and managing Boundary Groups and their fallback relationships across one or more Distribution Points
    • Management of site communications. (Bandwidth, Senders, Secondary Sites, etc.)
    • Role-Based Administration: Managing custom roles and security scopes
    • Planning and securing MEMCM using security certificates
    • General monitoring of site health via MEMCM, log files, and the MEMCM console
    • Configuring integration with Azure Services and Intune prerequisites
    • Configuration and management of Azure Active Directory
    • Planning and deployment of Cloud Management Gateways
    • Planning, configuring and implementing a backup plan to mitigate the loss of MEMCM services in the event of a disaster with the least amount of data loss possible
    • Create and Edit Technical Documentation
    • Help with Presales Activities such as joining customer calls, writing Statements of Work, etc.
  • Collaborates with operation teams conducting upgrades of SCCM
    • Old versions of SCCM to MEMCM Current Branch
    • In-Console Upgrades
    • Client Agent Upgrades
  • Manage and configure User and Device collections including:
    • Creating query-based collections
    • Creating and configuring Azure Active Directory groups
    • Configuring Site Collection Maintenance Windows
    • Configuring Power Management Rules
  • Deploying Operating System Images (currently Windows 10) via SCCM / MEMCM OSD including:
    • Configuring WDS, configuring PXE, configuring the VM build environment, and integrating with MDT
    • Configure Windows Autopilot
    • Build / Capture / Update Windows 10 images
    • Driver Management
    • Creating bare-metal and in-place upgrade deployment Task Sequences
    • Creating software and scripting packages for Operating System Deployments
  • Deployment of Applications and Software Updates including:
    • Creating and deploying applications with user-device affinity, deployment type requirements, Software Center and task sequencing
    • Creating and managing applications in Intune
    • Knowledge of packaging technologies such as MSI, App-V, AppX, and MSIX
    • Deploying and managing Office 365 ProPlus desktop applications through MEMCM and Intune
    • Deploying, managing, and monitoring updates using Automatic Deployment Rules (ADR), Update Groups, Deployment packages, and other related features
    • Configuring Windows Update for Business policies in Intune
    • Reporting on the success or failure of Application deployments
  • Open and coordinate cases with tool \ application vendors when needed by L2-L3 teams
  • Compliance and Configuration Settings
    • Creating and importing Configuration Items (CI)
    • Intune Compliance and Configuration policies
    • Managing, configuring, and importing Intune ADMX policies
  • Deploy and manage client agents
    • Manage clients using Group Policy, logon scripts, Client Push, etc
    • Configure and maintain custom device and user client settings
    • Troubleshoot client health
  • Manage and report on hardware and software inventory
  • Create, modify, and produce custom reporting as needed
  • PowerShell Scripting
  • Query and interact with Active Directory Domain Services including configuration of Group Policy
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience supporting Configuration Manager Current Branch and Microsoft Intune in an environment
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
    • MD-100: Exam Windows 10
    • MD-101: Managing Modern Desktops
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to correspond efficiently and effectively. This includes both verbally as well as in a written format. Emphasis is put upon the ability to produce well written technical documentation.
