Job Title : Plant Engineer

Location: Milwaukee, WI Overnight Travel: 10%

Relocation: Prefer Local, but sign-on bonus for relocation if needed

Compensation: Salary of $90K - $110K + 10 15% Target Bonus

Our client is a growing, privately held snack food company which currently operates 7 plants nationwide and is adding a new plant in Milwaukee, WI.

Plant Info: This is a new state-of-the-art Brownfield plant under construction in Milwaukee, WI. The plant will have 3 bakery processing and packaging lines (1 new + 1 line each transferring from 2 nearby plants)

Note 1: The ideal candidate will support the VP of Engineering in charge of starting a new plant worth $45 Million Plus . The Engineer will get an opportunity to be mentored in handling parts of the plant equipment capital project worth $10 Million as the new plant is built.

After this new plant is started up, this person will assume the long-term role of Plant Engineer to support plant production and manufacturing reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

Summary:

Company is expanding, and needs a Plant Engineer to support the build-out of their new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Milwaukee, WI.

This is an excellent growth opportunity for an ambitious young engineer with a passion for manufacturing. For the first 18 to 24 months, this role will focus on building and starting-up the new plant, including the consolidation of two existing plants.

Through effective project management (working with our VP of Engineering) the person in this role will develop and execute plans, manage budgets, work with vendors and troubleshoot issues with the manufacturing lines.

Beyond the move, this role will then focus on continuous improvement projects in partnership with the operations team to improve labor cost per hour, uptime and efficiencies.

Job Description:

Support the VP of Engineering to build the new plant and consolidate two existing facilities

Oversee project management and vendor relationships for the installation, commissioning and startup of new manufacturing lines

Manage contractor and OEM service technicians in the installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment

Develop and execute Change Requests, Factory Acceptance Tests, Installation Plans, Commissioning Plans, Preventative Maintenance Procedures, Operational SOPs, and PSSR's within the plant for new installations

Prepare and review project drawings/specifications to ensure compliance with OSHA environmental/quality standards, and federal, state and local environmental laws

Develop and modify facility layout designs using AutoCAD

Research, explore and evaluate opportunities to improve processes and equipment efficiency, including opportunities to improve labor productivity, reduce yield loss, increase uptime, and production output

Partner with R&D on innovation platforms and ensure equipment delivers the intended product characteristics and production rates. Coordinate resources with the maintenance and manufacturing teams to ensure success.

Continuously seek improvements to products and projects, managing work as assigned. Ensure continuous improvement through support of the plant operations team, identifying new opportunities to enable effective manufacturing and optimizing process and equipment.

Enforce plant and company safety programs, promoting and maintaining a high level of awareness and adherence to defined employee safety requirements and procedures while performing work activities
