Job Title: Clinical Reseach Nurse Practitioner
Location:Birmingham, AL 35242
Type: 2 month contract with potential hire
Shift/Schedule: 8:30-4pm local time
Hourly rate::$60-$70hr
  • Perform screenings including medical history, physical exam, medication reconciliation and education.
  • Effectively identify, evaluate, and address the concerns of the member, employee or participant.
  • Diagnose and prescribe based on evidence based clinical practice.
  • Interpret laboratory data and recommend appropriate follow up.
  • Order and administer POC and lab based testing.
  • Order and administer vaccinations.
  • Administer medications/Investigational Products via IM, SQ, IV.
  • Refer members and participants to PCP, case management and/or disease management programs as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including but not limited to risk & quality teams, staffing, operations, physicians, case managers, social workers, care givers and any appropriate ancillary medical personnel as appropriate.
  • Participate in all mandatory compliance and other training programs, seek guidance for compliance-related concerns and adhere to all applicable laws, regulations and our client???s policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation according to our client???s guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintains positive control of all PHI information.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and State Board of Nursing.
  • May act as a preceptor for new providers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Master???s Degree required OR commensurate experience and satisfactory completion of NP licensure
  • Current RN and NP licensure in state of practice to include prescription authority or the ability to obtain prescriptive authority
  • Board certification by AANP, AACN or ANCC, in Adult, Family Practice Geriatrics or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, or ACNPC-AG (Adult Gero) Acute Care NP, or
  • ACNPC (Adult) Acute Care NP
  • Current CPR certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 1+ years??? experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Perform comprehensive geriatric, adult, and pediatric physical exams.
    • Identify, diagnose and document acute and chronic disease.
    • Effectively reconcile medications.
    • Diagnose and prescribe using evidence based clinical practice.
    • Recognize conditions, characteristics, and behaviors that place members, employees, or participants at risk.
    • Identify and document the needs of the clinically complex.
  • Possess a valid state driver license and proof of coverage, and meet company???s driving and automobile liability insurance standards.
  • Proficient computer skills, including e-mail and Microsoft Office.
  • Effective written communication skills including but not limited to writing reports and correspondence.
  • Strong verbal communication and effective listening skills, including the ability to present and maintain a professional, empathetic demeanor at all times.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and use time efficiently.
Physical and Psychological Demands:
  • Requires sitting, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, crouching, crawling and/or stretching from seated or standing positions
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate medical equipment, keyboard, telephone, copier, calculator and other office equipment
  • Requires close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust visual focus, hearing and smelling.
  • Must be able to communicate information via telephone or computer
  • Requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity of the job
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
