POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director Of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) manages and oversees psychiatric services at the inpatient Behavioral Health program site. This role has accountability for managing resources, (human, material and financial), ensuring quality, cost effective delivery of services for the inpatient population, promoting an environment that supports the program goals, mission, vision, philosophy, and caring values delivering a safe place for recuperation and growth. Philosophy is created on a psychosocial model of care and follows the core principles of
resilience, recovery, and restoration.
Top Skills needed:
Shifts: Sun-Thur., ideally 2-10pm, but there is some flexibility ranging from 12-8 or 1-9. The Sun-Thursday is not flexible. It does need to be evening hours as I need them to be here opposite me.

- Minimum of 5 years of professional nursing experience, preferably in a behavioral healthcare inpatient psychiatric setting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations management, clinical or medical position.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business administration, finance, or clinical specialty.
- RN license in AZ
- Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, shift changes.

Essential Duties:
- Partners and collaborates with leadership in administrative, operations, clinical, and medical groups to ensure a quality care experience and a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Directs and manages nursing operations, services and standards, fiscal management, and monitors medical patient care and service delivery.
- Ensures policies, procedures, and practices follow nursing standards, administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements of government and accrediting agencies.
- Communicates effectively with nursing staff, with all levels of management and other staff, interacts effectively as a leader or as a member of a team and works collaboratively with others.
- Key member of leadership team, attends scheduled meetings, provides required reports, provides important patient care information, manages multiple tasks, and successfully meets deadlines.
- Provides and supports staff training in relevant nursing standards of care.
- Evaluates the performance of all nursing staff and monitors other staff in service delivery.
- Maintains a state of continuous regulatory readiness.
- Performs rounds to observe care and to interview staff, patients, families, or other interested parties.
- Reviews each unit daily to monitor and ensure timely, effective responses to significant changes in condition, transfers, discharges, use of restraints, unexplained injuries, falls, behavioral episodes, medication errors, and environmental issues.
- Collaborates with physicians, consultants, community agencies and institutions to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems.
- Utilize knowledge in research, data management and analysis, budget, and staff development to supervise planning, implementation of care, or improvements and/or changes to delivery of patient care.
- Oversee nursing schedules to assure they meet patient needs and regulatory and budgetary standards.
- Provide regular inspection of medical charts both open and closed to ensure compliance with quality assurance, quality improvement, policies and procedures, and all other regulatory funding, clinical and medical standards.
- Take ownership communicating/implementing process improvements and new system initiatives.
- Participates in the recruitment and selection of nursing personnel.
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional nursing experience, preferably in a behavioral healthcare inpatient psychiatric setting and a minimum of 3 years of experience in an operations management, clinical or medical position.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business administration, finance, or clinical specialty.
- Master's degree a plus.
- Must have an Arizona Registered Nurse/RN license, valid Arizona driver's license, Level I AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card, and able to pass required clearances: OIG, SAM, and Criminal Background checks.
- Must be flexible to adjust to the needs of a fast-paced environment, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and display proficient oral/written communication skills.
- Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, shift changes.: Candidate must be a dynamic, self-motivated person with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Must possess the ability to coach, mentor, and provide quality feedback to those managed, with demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a changing environment.
