The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
As a Part-Time Student -Software Engineer for John Deere Global IT located in Chicago, Illinois, you will get a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a Fortune 500 company that is regularly ranked among the best companies to work for in the country. This position will be in the Digital Aftermarket Enablement area serving Proactive services to our end users. You will participate in all aspects of the Agile team's work which includes data engineering, software delivery, product configuration, automation, and service management. The person filling this position will not be expected to be an expert in all technologies on day one but should come with a strong foundational knowledge and an insatiable desire to learn and grow.
- Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in IT, computer science, engineering; others may apply
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local school/university
- Graduation date of December 2023 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
- Available to work 16-20 hours during the school year
- Available to work 35-40 hours during the summer
- Must be able to commute to the work location in Chicago, Illinois, minimum one day weekly during the summer & during the school year
- Experience with Java and Python
- Experience in cloud infrastructure & development with AWS platform
- Exposure to test-driven development utilizing tools
- Experience with Spring and RESTful APIs
- Proven experience in data analysis skills using SQL or other relevant techniques
- Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of ServiceNow, ITIL, change management and auditability/compliance requirements
- Software development projects
- Hands on experience with any programming language
- Familiarity with any cloud technologies
