The position of truck driver is assigned to the pipe crew and will construct, repair, maintain, clean and upgrade Borough infrastructure and equipment including: streets and alleys, storm sewer systems, signs, buildings and grounds; support town functions and events, learn and develop heavy machinery operator skills; coordinate work and assist other Borough departments including Police, Fire and Waste Water Treatment Plant, repair roads, including pot holes, cracks, bumps; raise, repair, and replace manholes and covers; resurface and/or repair streets with asphalt; monitor and clear all debris including snow and ice from sidewalks, roads, storm sewer inlets and bridges; perform winter maintenance of roads. Work is frequently performed around hazardous machinery and in inclement weather. May be required to respond to emergencies on a twenty-four-hour basis, especially during winter weather events.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Three years experience working in public works
- One year minimum experience driving a truck
- Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid PA Commercial Drivers License (CDL), minimum Class B (with air brake)
- Experience on a pipe or concrete crew preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Basic knowledge of construction, maintenance and repair practices and procedures for streets, storm sewer systems, buildings and grounds, and traffic signs
- Basic computer skills, experience operating heavy equipment (backhoe, grader), and experience milling and grading are preferred
