At Edward Jones our Data Services team is developing and deploying cutting edge solutions to support the rapid adoption of cloud and data streaming architecture. They are responsible for multiple data platforms and implementing next-generation data infrastructure for users across the firm. In a Platform Engineering role, you will focus on the MongoDB infrastructure and be expected to facilitate the "you build it, you run it" mantra through the development of rapid system integrations and a steady focus on automation. This will also bring you into contact with a diverse array of stakeholders from each area of the Technology division and will require solid collaboration skills as well as a belief in continuous improvement. In addition, you will engage the rest of the Data Platforms team in Mongo, SQL MI, Kafka, and Qlik CDC solutions. What you'll do
  • Work closely with project teams to deploy new solutions for proof-of-concept efforts
  • Independently design, assemble, configure, install, maintain and tune complex infrastructure components
  • Assist in the adoption of Cloud infrastructure platforms and the integration of a hybrid architecture
  • Develop integrated system designs and specifications
  • Debug and correct complex internal and external infrastructure problems
  • Document step-by-step procedures and system configuration for use in ongoing support and future efforts that require modifications or upgrades to the infrastructure
  • Assist in the adoption of Cloud infrastructure platforms and the integration of a hybrid architecture
  • Automate manual, repeatable system processes to reduce Tier 1 level work
  • Collaborate with peers and project teams to deploy new solutions for proof-of-concept efforts
What you'll need
  • Extensive experience with MongoDB 4.0, MongoDB 4.2 or later (strongly preferred) or NoSQL
  • Experience in Installation, Configuration and Administration of MongoDB or NoSQL in both on-prem and Atlas environments
  • Experience with both sharded clusters and replica sets
  • Experience in MongoDB/NoSQL data modeling, schema design
  • Experience in MongoDB/NoSQL Performance tuning
  • Experience with MongoDB/NoSQL Security best practice implementations
  • Experience with MongoDB/ NoSQL Backup, Restore and Monitoring
  • Experience working in AWS, Azure and/or any cloud provider environment
  • Experience in systems, automation, configuration management and deployment of applications supporting an Agile development process.
  • Experience with virtualization and container environment management (e.g. VMware, DC/OS, Kubernetes)
  • Familiar with utilization of source code repository (GitHub)
  • Knowledge of the configuration of monitoring solutions and the creation of dashboards (Splunk, Wily, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Computer Science, Technology or related field

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:
