Electrical Engineer

Description:

Actalent is seeking an Expert Electrical Engineer to support develop new generations of sensing and active defense technologies in a fast paced and exciting environment. This position will join a small and dedicated DoD team, you will be given immediate responsibility for designing and analyzing complex electrical systems. Typical day to day work is done using Altium for design, along with analysis tools like Excel and MATLAB.

- You will be expected to develop from requirements to completion with minimal reviews. The design process includes the ability to fully document, prototype, and test/qualify the design.

- You will help develop and architect new systems in a cooperative environment and push the edge of modern technology.

- Testing occurs at facilities, test facilities, and test ranges around the country.

Requirements:

•Use of meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronics test equipment

•Expert with schematic capture and board layout (Altium preferred)

•Understand board design concerns such as high-speed routing and low noise circuits

•Analysis of circuits using SPICE simulations

•Experience with MIL-STDs and designing for military and industrial environments

•Experience with Xilinx FPGAs

•Optoelectronics such as avalanche photo-diodes and high-speed high-gain analog signal conditioning

•Digital communication interfaces such as I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485, LVDS, ethernet, PCIe

PLUS Experience

•Pico-second resolution timing circuits

•High-power LED, laser, and fiber-laser designs

•Optics testing and optomechanical design

•Cable and harness design

•Test equipment design and programming

•MATLAB

•NI LabView
