NURSE PRACTITIONER QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)
  • Possession of a Colorado State Nurse Practitioner license.
  • National Nurse Practitioner Certification is required.
  • Prescriptive authority is required. No claims against your license.
  • BLS certification is required. ALL LICENSES MUST BE UP-TO-DATE AND UNENCUMBERED.


Job Details

NURSE PRACTITIONER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Able to see up to 20 patients per day.
  • Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.
  • Performs a thorough physical exam, and records findings. Collaborates with colleagues in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
  • Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Administers medications and injections as needed. Sutures minor lacerations.
  • Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Provides patient education and discharges patients when appropriate.
  • Assists in the triage of patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
  • **Must have a minimum of 3 years of outpatient primary care experience managing chronic conditions and should be able to perform suturing, skin biopsies, pap smears, administer IV fluids, interpret EKGs and Spirometry, I&D of cysts and wounds independently**
