  • Seeking a highly motivated person for the position of Specialty Dockets Database Analyst.
  • This department assists in the development of automated systems, documenting system enhancements and providing support and training.
  • The Specialty Dockets Database Analyst works as a member of a team to research and analyze a wide variety of criminal justice data using many statistical techniques.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities -

  • The Specialty Dockets Database Analyst researches and analyzes criminal justice data, examines criminal justice trends, drug court models, behavioral health dockets and veterans treatment dockets & patterns, identifies risk factors associated with offender recidivism, tracks national research and best practices, and assesses the impact for Specialty Dockets of proposed national guidelines and grant policy changes.
  • The Specialty Dockets Database Analyst provides input into project design and research methodology, analyzes data using appropriate statistical techniques, accurately interprets results, and prepares written reports or visual presentations of the findings. The Specialty Dockets Database Analyst is also responsible for collecting and assembling data for projects as needed. Statewide travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience - Candidates must have demonstrated proficiency in social science research methods and must be highly skilled in the application of descriptive statistics and multivariate statistical analysis techniques, such as regression.

  • Prior experience working with large databases and drawing data from multiple data sources is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is essential.
  • A college degree in a social science discipline or statistics is required (advanced degree is preferred).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with statistical analysis software, such as PASW (SPSS), STATA, Tableau or R (programming language), is necessary.
  • The candidate also must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point software.

Additional Information

  • Knowledge of the judicial/criminal system is desired.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have applied their research skills in criminal justice/specialty dockets settings.
  • Knowledge of sampling design and sampling strategies is beneficial.
